# Logging in with institutional SSO

This page describes one of Overleaf’s login options, institutional single sign-on (SSO), which is offered by some Overleaf Commons subscribers and is implemented using the SAML2 standard.

For more information about login options, please see [Email address and login options](/accounts-and-security/email-address-and-login-options.md#overleaf-login-options). Information about SSO for Professional groups can be found [here](https://docs.overleaf.com/groups/overleaf-group-single-sign-on/setting-up-group-sso).

{% hint style="info" %}
Overleaf Commons single sign-on is a “site wide” SSO implementation that differs from Overleaf Group SSO. If you are a group administrator or responsible for configuring SSO for a group, please see our [Overleaf Group SSO](https://docs.overleaf.com/groups/overleaf-group-single-sign-on/setting-up-group-sso) guides for more information.
{% endhint %}
